North Korea has apparently fired a missile in the direction of Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido and its northeastern prefecture of Aomori, the Japanese government said, just days after the North launched ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan. The government issued an alert urging residents in Hokkaido and Aomori to stay inside buildings.
