Japan's top currency diplomat declined Saturday to comment on whether Tokyo has conducted another market intervention after the country's currency suddenly surged by 5 yen against the U.S. dollar "I cannot comment on it," Masato Kanda, vice minister of finance for international affairs, told reporters.
