Japan’s Mercari Tops Mothers Market in Strong Stock Exchange Debut

Flea-market app Mercari made its debut on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market on June 19, surging 77% to close the day’s trading at ¥5,300 per share. Its market capitalization at the end of its first day totaled ¥717.2 billion, overtaking smartphone gaming firm Mixi to top the Mothers market for start-up companies.
