Tokyo, Sept. 15 (Jiji Press)--Mos Food Services Inc. <8153> said Saturday that nearly 30 customers of its Mos Burger hamburger restaurants have shown food poisoning symptoms.
Although detailed causes of the food poisoning have yet to be known, it is highly likely that foodstuffs supplied by the Mos Burger headquarters to outlets in eastern and central Japan prefectures were tainted, a Mos Food official said.
According to the company, a total of 28 customers complained of symptoms such as abdominal pain and diarrhea after dinning at Mos Burger restaurants in Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, Chiba, Gunma, Tochigi, Yamanashi and Nagano on Aug. 10-23.
The O-121 strain of E. coli bacteria was detected in 13 sickened dinners who took food poisoning checks.
Mos Food apologized to the victims and their families.
