Nomura, Others to Work Together on Financial Gerontology
Tokyo, Oct. 18 (Jiji Press)--Nomura Holdings Inc. <8604>, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corp. and Keio University said Thursday that they will work together to raise public awareness about financial gerontology.
The three Japanese entities said they will jointly establish an organization called Japan Financial Gerontology Institute in April next year.
The move is aimed at disseminating knowledge about asset management for elderly people and training financial industry personnel in the field.
The project comes as the industry is moving to develop asset management expertise that reflects customers' cognitive function deterioration amid the aging of society.
The new institute plans to provide training programs and proficiency tests and certificates to financial institutions.
