Abe, Xi Hold Their 8th Summit

Beijing, Oct. 26 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their eighth meeting, at China's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, on Friday afternoon.

At the beginning of the summit, Abe said he hopes to open a new era for the two countries, together with the president.

Xi pointed out that the bilateral relationship is now back on the right track and showing positive momentum.

Ahead of the Abe-Xi meeting, the Japanese and Chinese governments agreed to work to realize a visit by Xi to Japan next year.

Abe and Xi last met in the Russian Far East city of Vladivostok in September.
