NTT Docomo to Lower Mobile Fees by 20-40 Pct in Early FY 2019
Tokyo, Oct. 31 (Jiji Press)--NTT Docomo Inc. <9437> said Wednesday that it will lower monthly charges for mobile phone users by 20 to 40 pct in the first quarter of fiscal 2019 starting next April.
The new fee system is expected to offer customer benefits totaling up to 400 billion yen a year, NTT Docomo President Kazuhiro Yoshizawa said at a press conference to announce the mobile phone carrier's earning results for the fiscal 2018 first half.
The company plans to lower fees for phone calls and data communications, rather than cutting handset prices, according to Yoshizawa.
Details of the new fee plans will be announced later.
