Nissan's Ghosn Told Aide to Report His Pay as One B. Yen

Tokyo, Nov. 22 (Jiji Press)--Nissan Motor Co.'s <7201> Carols Ghosn told his aide, Greg Kelly, to report his pay to be around one billion yen in securities filings, informed sources said Thursday.

The two Nissan executives were arrested Monday for their alleged involvement in underreporting Ghosn's pay in securities reports by a total of 5 billion yen over the five years through fiscal 2014, which ended in March 2015.

The instruction of Ghosn, 64, was relayed to a foreign corporate officer from Kelly, 62, the sources said.

Ghosn's actual annual pay during the period is believed to be around 2 billion yen.

Nissan officials including the foreign officer reported his pay to be about one billion yen lower than his actual remuneration in the securities reports as instructed, according to the sources.
