Osaka, Nov. 26 (Jiji Press)--Kansai International Airport saw aircraft on international routes land at and take off from the airport in Osaka Prefecture 12,510 times in October to rewrite a monthly record, the operator said Monday.

The number of landings and takeoffs by international flights increased 7 pct from a year earlier, the operator, Kansai Airports, added.

Kansai Airports also said the number of passengers went up 3 pct to around 2.45 million, recovering from the slump to 1,216,000 in September due to the airport's temporary closure caused by Typhoon Jebi.

Visitors from other parts of Asia have quickly returned to the airport, a Kansai Airports official said.
