Tokyo, Nov. 27 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government adopted at a screening meeting on Tuesday a logo for a Group of 20 summit to be held in Osaka in June next year.

Mount Fuji and a rising sun, both symbols of Japan, are included in the logo and are intended to portray global growth and prosperity.

A cherry blossom is also drawn at the foot of Mount Fuji.

The logo by Yukio Ushigome, 54, a graphic designer, was picked from entries of 1,092 designs throughout Japan.

Participants at the meeting, held at the prime minister's office, included Osaka Governor Ichiro Matsui and Akari Yoshida, a member of popular all-girl group NMB48 in the host city in western Japan.
