Los Angeles, Nov. 28 (Jiji Press)--Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> said Wednesday that it will launch a hybrid version of its Corolla car in the United States for the first time next spring.

At a media preview of the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show on the day, the Japanese automaker also announced a plan to release a revamped Prius hybrid vehicle model in the United States next January.

It aims to highlight the high fuel efficiency of the new models to increase further its presence in the U.S. market, officials said.

Toyota said it will unveil its new Supra sports car on Jan. 14, 2019, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The car will stage a comeback after its production was halted in 2002. A prototype of the new Supra was shown to the public in March this year.
