Huis Ten Bosch to Accept Investment from China's Fosun
Nagasaki, Dec. 4 (Jiji Press)--The operator of the Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, southwestern Japan, plans to accept a capital injection from Shanghai-based conglomerate Fosun Group, informed sources said Monday.
The operator, Huis Ten Bosch Inc., a unit of major Japanese travel agency H.I.S. Co. <9603>, hopes to attract more Chinese visitors through cooperation with Fosun Group.
Fosun Group is expected to acquire a stake of between 20 pct and 30 pct in Huis Ten Bosch, the sources said.
By January, H.I.S. and five other Huis Ten Bosch shareholders are likely to conclude contracts to sell part of their holdings to Fosun Group, the sources said.
H.I.S. currently owns two-thirds of Huis Ten Bosch, capitalized at 1.5 billion yen. The remaining five shareholders include Kyushu Electric Power Co. <9508>, Saibu Gas Co. <9536> and Kyushu Railway Co. <9142>, or JR Kyushu.
