Tokyo, Dec. 12 (Jiji Press)--Used vehicle sales in Japan in November rose 5.3 pct from a year before to 316,915 units, up for the second straight month, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said Wednesday.

The growth came as the reporting month had one more business day than last year. In addition, the number of trade-in vehicles increased on the back of firm new vehicle sales.

Sales of used passenger cars expanded 4.7 pct to 275,403 units. Of them, sales of small cars fell 0.1 pct, while those of larger cars grew 8.8 pct.

Sales of trucks jumped 10.1 pct to 33,744 units and those of buses surged 16.8 pct to 993 units.

The data did not include used minivehicles with an engine displacement of up to 660 cc.
