Nagoya, Dec. 17 (Jiji Press)--Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> said Monday that it aims to sell a record 10.76 million automobiles worldwide in 2019, including vehicles made by two units--Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd. <7205>.

The figure would be up 2.0 pct from 10.55 million units estimated for this year, marking an all-time high for the Toyota group for the third consecutive year, the leading Japanese automaker said.

The group's annual global vehicle sales are on course to top 10 million units for six years in a row, led by brisk demand in China and other foreign markets.

Group sales in Japan are expected to go up by 0.9 pct year on year to 2.31 million units and overseas sales by 2.3 pct to 8.45 million units.

Toyota forecasts its own global sales at 9.68 million units, up 1.9 pct. While domestic sales are seen almost leveling off, at 1.57 million units, sales will be firm abroad, totaling an estimated 8.11 million units, on the back of brisk sales of Lexus-brand luxury cars in China and robust demand in Europe.
