Mitsubishi Aircraft Seeks to Dismiss Suit from Bombardier

Tokyo, Dec. 21 (Jiji Press)--Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. said Friday that it has filed with a U.S. district court for dismissal of a lawsuit by Canadian plane maker Bombardier Inc.

In the lawsuit, Bombardier claims that the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. <7011> subsidiary hired a former worker of Bombardier and misappropriated confidential information on passenger aircraft certification for the development of a small jet, the Mitsubishi Regional Jet.

Bombardier seeks damages and an injunction against the use of the information.

Mitsubishi Aircraft defended the staff appointment, saying that it conducts its recruiting activities legally.

Claiming that Bombardier aims to disrupt the development of the MRJ and the mobility of engineers in the employment market, Mitsubishi Aircraft said it is considering filing a countersuit.
