New York, Jan. 9 (Jiji Press)--Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> said Wednesday that it is recalling some 1.7 million additional vehicles in North America due to rupture-prone Takata Corp. air bags.
The latest safety recall is based on an agreement reached in 2016 between the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Takata, which filed for bankruptcy protection in June 2017.
The recall includes certain 4Runner, Corolla, Matrix and Lexus models. About 1.3 million vehicles are involved in the United States.
