Good to See Trump Make No Easy Concession with Kim: Japan Official

Tokyo, Feb. 28 (Jiji Press)--A senior Japanese government official said Thursday it was "good" that U.S. President Donald Trump "made no easy concession" with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at their just-ended summit in Hanoi.

The White House said that the two leaders reached no agreement at the two-day meeting.

Meanwhile, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a press conference that Tokyo is working to gather detailed information on the summit's outcome.

"Japan has been closely coordinating with the United States" to resolve the issues of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, as well as Japanese abductees in North Korea, the top government spokesman said. "We'll continue that close cooperation."
