Tokyo, March 4 (Jiji Press)--Japanese food and beverage maker Meiji Co. will terminate sales of its Meiji Fruits series fruit-flavored milk products in glass bottle, launched in 1958, after shipments on April 1, it was learned Monday.

The unit of Meiji Holdings Co. <2269> made the decision as sales "have been declining over a long period of time," according to a public relations official of the company. The products are available only through home delivery services.

Meiji will launch similar fruit milk products in plastic bottle on March 18. They will be sold in the Kanto eastern, Chubu central and Kansai western regions, mainly via home delivery services and vending machines.
