Tokyo Court OKs Release on Bail of Ghosn
Tokyo, March 5 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo District Court approved on Tuesday the third bail application for Carlos Ghosn, former chairman of Nissan Motor Co. <7201>, who has been in detention for more than 100 days for alleged financial misconduct.
The bail was set at one billion yen--200 million yen for the charge of understating his pay in violation of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act and 800 million yen for the charge of aggravated breach of trust by the transfer of his personal trading loss to the company.
Later on Tuesday, prosecutors filed a complaint against the decision.
The district court approved the bail request on condition that Ghosn remains in Japan after his release.
The third application was filed by Ghosn's new defense team appointed in February. Ghosn has been held in the Tokyo Detention House since his arrest on Nov. 19.
