Carlos Ghosn Released on Bail
Tokyo, March 6 (Jiji Press)--Former Nissan Motor Co. <7201> Chairman Carlos Ghosn was released from the Tokyo Detention House on Wednesday, 107 days after he was arrested for alleged financial misconduct.
The release came after Ghosn, 64, put up one billion yen in bail earlier in the day.
Tokyo District Court approved his third bail application Tuesday, on condition that he lives in Tokyo and installs a surveillance camera at the entrance of his residence. He is banned from traveling overseas, with his passport managed by his lawyer.
Around 10 bail conditions, also covering the use of personal computers, were set in total.
Ghosn is also restricted from making contact with former Nissan Representative Director Greg Kelly, 62, who was released on bail on Dec. 25, 2018. Both Ghosn and Kelly were arrested on Nov. 19 that year.
