Mitsubishi Electric to Build New Plant in Czech Republic
Tokyo, March 6 (Jiji Press)--Mitsubishi Electric Corp. <6503> said Wednesday it will build a new facility to manufacture parts for electrified vehicles in Slany, the Czech Republic, at a cost of 1.2 billion yen.
The Japanese company hopes to launch the new plant's operations in April 2020.
The move is in response to growing demand for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles in Europe.
The new plant will be built on the premises of Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Czech, a subsidiary manufacturing and selling electric parts for automobiles.
The one-story factory, with a total floor space of 9,880 square meters, will produce motors and inverters for electrified vehicles.
