Tokyo, March 11 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government held the first meeting of a panel of experts to review its "Cool Japan" strategy in Tokyo on Monday.

The government will reflect changes of the times and the perspective of foreigners in the strategy to promote Japanese culture, which was set in June 2015. A new version is due out in summer.

The meeting was attended by Chad Mullane, a comedian from Australia, and Kwan Srisongkram, manager of a Web magazine for visitors to Japan.

The new strategy is expected to include targets to boost cooperation among government agencies.

During the meeting, Takuya Hirai, minister for the strategy, said, "You don't describe yourself as cool," indicating a possible review to the name of the strategy.
