Tokyo, March 13 (Jiji Press)--Japanese musician and actor Pierre Taki, who plays a role in "Idaten," this year's "taiga" annual history drama series of Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK), the country's public broadcaster, has been arrested for allegedly using cocaine.
Taki, 51, whose real name is Masanori Taki, has admitted to the narcotics control law violation charges, according to investigative sources.
He was arrested by the narcotics control department of the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry's Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Bureau of Health and Welfare on Tuesday on suspicion of using a small amount of cocaine in Tokyo or an area near the capital on or around Tuesday.
The department searched his family home in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward earlier in the day.
No cocaine was found during the search, but Taki was positive for cocaine use in a urine test later, the sources said.
