Okayama, March 13 (Jiji Press)--A regional branch of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces in Okayama Prefecture, western Japan, has been distributing for free originally developed game cards themed on disaster-relief activities.
The cards are intended for children and others to enhance their awareness of disaster prevention by playing games with them for fun.
It is the first time for the SDF to create this kind of cards, according to the forces' Okayama Provincial Cooperation Office.
Each set is made up of 40 game cards, emblazoned with pictures of vehicles, ships and aircraft used by units of the Ground, Maritime and Air SDFs, as well as female anime characters.
Two players face off against each other, with one set of the game cards. The players compete to acquire "disaster cards," such as the heavy rain card and the earthquake card, using the points of cards placed on the "field."
