Meiji to Sell Liquid Baby Formula in Japan

Tokyo, March 13 (Jiji Press)--Meiji Co. said Wednesday that it will start selling a liquid baby-formula product at theme parks and some other facilities in Japan late this month.

The 240-milliliter product will be available at drugstores, supermarkets and other stores across the country, starting in late April.

Liquid baby formula, which does not require hot water, unlike powdered baby milk, is considered useful at times of disaster or if people go out.

The Japanese food maker has adopted a steel can for the container so the product can be stockpiled in case of disasters. The product has a shelf life of one year.

The unit of Meiji Holdings Co. <2269> plans to introduce several liquid baby-formula products.
