S. Korean Foreign Min. Calls for Careful "War Crime Sticker" Discussions
Seoul, March 21 (Jiji Press)--South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha urged a provincial assembly on Thursday to carefully discuss a bill to oblige schools to put stickers on products used by students saying they were made by "war criminal Japanese companies."
During a parliamentary session, Kang said that it is necessary for the assembly of Gyeonggi-do, near Seoul, to consider the proposal carefully.
Although it may be inappropriate for a central government official to make specific comments and assessments on activities of provincial assemblies, this matter should be given diplomatic consideration, she noted.
