Tokyo, April 3 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Nissan Motor Co. <7201>, Renault SA of France and Nissan's domestic peer Mitsubishi Motors Corp. <7211> will hold the first meeting of their new alliance operating board on April 12, according to informed sources.

Through the launch of the board to discuss their alliance strategy, the three automakers aim to shift to consensus-led decision-making by their top leaders, overhauling the conventional management system that granted power intensively to former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn.

The first meeting of the board, chaired by Renault Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard, will be held at Renault's headquarters in a suburb of Paris, the sources said.

Nissan President Hiroto Saikawa and Mitsubishi Motors Chief Executive Officer Osamu Masuko will attend the meeting.

The top leaders are expected to discuss the three automakers' cooperation in parts procurement, production plans and research and development.
