Tokyo, April 5 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo District Court approved on Friday the detention until April 14 of former Nissan Motor Co. <7201> Chairman Carlos Ghosn, who has been arrested again on additional aggravated breach of trust charges.

The defense team for Ghosn plans to appeal the court decision.

On Thursday, Ghosn, while on bail, was arrested for the fourth time, for allegedly funneling funds of the Japanese automaker to a dealer in Oman, in violation of the companies law.

The same day, Junichiro Hironaka, a lawyer for Ghosn, criticized the latest move by the special investigation squad of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office as "an outrageous act that shouldn't be allowed."

In Japan, a detention period after arrest can be extended by up to 10 days with a court's approval.
