Merrill Lynch Japan Names Sasada as President

Tokyo, April 12 (Jiji Press)--Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Co. has promoted Tamao Sasada, a board director, to president.
Reiko Hayashi, vice chairman of the subsidiary of Bank of America, has assumed the position of vice president.
The appointments took effect on Thursday.
It is the first time for the company to have women in the top two posts.
Sasada, who was in charge of overseeing the company's investment banking department, has supported Japanese banks' overseas expansion.
