Tokyo, April 16 (Jiji Press)--Free messaging app provider Line Corp. <3938> launched on Tuesday an online service enabling users to freely upload their original novels so publishers can discover new talent.
Specifically, registered users of the Line Novel service can post their original works and may receive a publication offer by a member publishing company. Chances cannot be ruled out that other member publishers will make offers as well. In this case, the author can pick one after comparing contract terms.
Leading publishers taking part in the service include Kodansha Ltd. and Shueisha Inc., Line said.
The company also said it will release this summer an app that allows general service users to read posted novels as well as works of prominent writers such as Miyuki Miyabe in the form of e-books.
