Man Arrested for Intruding into Prince Hisahito's School
Tokyo, April 29 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo's Metropolitan Police Department on Monday arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of intruding into the junior high school that Prince Hisahito attends.
At the Ochanomizu University Junior High School in Tokyo, two fruit knives attached to an end of a 60-centimeter aluminum pole were found on the desk of Prince Hisahito, 12, in his classroom Friday.
The police suspect that the arrested man, who called himself Kaoru Hasegawa, was involved in the incident. He was held at a hotel in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, near Tokyo.
The suspect has admitted entering the school, investigative sources said.
Prince Hisahito is the only son of Prince Akishino, the second son of Emperor Akihito. The incident happened just before Wednesday's Imperial succession, which will move up the boy to second in line to the throne.
