Tokyo, April 30 (Jiji Press)--Major Japanese electronics makers are accelerating efforts to deal with the shortage of technicians for cutting-edge information technology such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
Hitachi Ltd. <6501> established a new subsidiary, Hitachi Academy Co., on April 1 by integrating three personnel development companies in its corporate group.
Hitachi Academy teaches latest AI technology to new Hitachi employees, based on the digital education system that had been implemented at Hitachi's information and communication department.
The new company also provides employees at non-IT departments with opportunities to relearn skills.
"We'll put effort into personnel development for further growth," Hitachi Academy President Raizo Sakoda said.
