New York, May 6 (Jiji Press)--Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> President Akio Toyoda will receive an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from Babson College in Massachusetts, his alma mater, informed sources said Monday.

The honorary degree will be presented on May 18, when Toyoda, 63, will give a speech at a graduation ceremony at the U.S. private university, the sources said.

This is likely to become one of commemorating events for Toyoda, who will mark his 10th year in June since taking the post of president at the major Japanese automaker.

After graduating from Keio University in Tokyo in 1979, Toyoda obtained his master's in business administration at Babson College in 1982.

He entered Toyota in 1984 after working at a U.S. investment bank.
