INTERVIEW: Resona Eyeing "In-House University" to Train Consulting Professionals
Osaka, May 29 (Jiji Press)--Resona Holdings Inc. <8308> plans to open an "in-house university" in July to nurture professionals in consultations about money, Kazuhiro Higashi, president of the Japanese banking holding company, has said in an interview.
The "Resona Academy" will provide 30 days of classes over half a year to impart advanced financial knowledge on such matters as asset management and inheritance.
It will first train marketing employees for individual customers at its core unit, Resona Bank, based in the western Japan city of Osaka, aiming to foster, by fiscal 2022, 300 specialists with financial expertise equivalent to the top grade of the government-issued "Certified Skilled Professional of Financial Planning" credential.
The advanced course also includes field experience training to learn how to deal with customers.
"We're making a switch to fostering professionals," Higashi said.
