Nissan, 2 Partners Discuss FCA-Renault Integration Plan

Yokohama, May 29 (Jiji Press)--Nissan Motor Co. <7201>, Renault SA and Mitsubishi Motors Corp. <7211> said Wednesday that they have held open and transparent discussions on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's integration proposal to Renault.

Renault is believed to have explained the expected merits of the possible integration, including an expansion in business scale, to Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors, its three-way alliance partners, sources familiar with the situation said.

The focus now will be how Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors react.

Leaders of the Japanese-French alliance exchanged opinions at a regular meeting in Yokohama, south of Tokyo, on Wednesday.

From Renault, Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard and Chief Executive Officer Thierry Bollore attended the meeting. Nissan was represented by President and CEO Hiroto Saikawa and Mitsubishi Motors by Chairman and CEO Osamu Masuko.
