Tokyo, June 13 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo police on Thursday arrested a U.S. Marine for allegedly punching and seriously injuring a stranger on the street in the Japanese capital in May.

Kahsai Tyree Hill, 21, is suspected of punching a 22-year-old man in the face on the street in the Yoyogi district in Shibuya Ward around 6:20 a.m. May 25 (9:20 p.m. May 24 GMT).

The victim suffered a broken nose that would take some five weeks to heal, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Hill has neither accepted nor denied the allegations, saying he does not want to speak.

Around the same time on May 25, four women, including a Self-Defense Force member in her teens, were attacked in the neighborhood. The police believe Hill is highly likely to have been involved in the incident, based mainly on eyewitness reports.
