Japan Crown Prince, Princess Attend Reception in Poland


Warsaw, July 1 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko attended on Monday a reception commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Poland.

The reception was held at the official residence of the Japanese ambassador to Poland in Warsaw.

The event brought together about 100 people, including government officials of the two countries and Japanese residents in Poland.

Students of a Japanese school in Warsaw played "taiko" Japanese drums for the participants.

Crown Prince Akishino said in a speech that he felt strong ties between Japan and Poland through the visit. "I can have great hope for the future of the two countries," he said.
