Honda N-Box Remains Best-Selling Car in Japan for Jan.-June

Tokyo, July 4 (Jiji Press)--Honda Motor Co.'s <7267> N-Box minivehicle topped Japan's new car sales rankings for the January-June period for three years in a row, industry data showed on Thursday.

Sales of the N-Box came to 131,233 units in the first half of this year, up 2.9 pct from a year before.

The top four spots were occupied by minivehicles, with engine displacements of up to 660 cc.

Suzuki Motor Corp.'s <7269> Spacia came second, with sales of 89,750 units, Daihatsu Motor Co.'s Tanto third, with 81,828 units, and Nissan Motor Co.'s <7201> Dayz fourth, with 79,789 units.

Among larger vehicles, Toyota Motor Corp.'s <7203> Prius hybrid vehicle ranked fifth, with 70,277 units, and Nissan's Note subcompact seventh, with 68,543 units.
