Nomura to Pay 26.5 M. Dlrs to Settle U.S. SEC Charges

New York, July 15 (Jiji Press)--The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said Monday that a subsidiary of Nomura Holdings Inc. <8604> has agreed to pay 26.5 million dollars to settle SEC charges over inappropriate securities transactions.
Five former traders of the U.S. subsidiary earned unjust profits by selling mortgage-backed securities and through other means between 2010 and 2014.
Of the 26.5 million dollars, 1.5 million dollars are civil penalties. The remaining 25 million dollars will be reimbursed to affected customers.
