Tokyo, July 23 (Jiji Press)--Japan Airlines <9201> on Tuesday revealed newly designed uniforms for its employees, giving female cabin attendants the choice of wearing trousers for the first time in the firm's history.
Flight attendants, mechanics, ground staff and others will start wearing the new uniforms in April next year, in the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
JAL redesigned its uniforms for the first time in some seven years.
"We focused on quality and functionality suitable for professionals. The new uniforms will be loved by our workers," JAL President Yuji Akasaka said at a press conference in Tokyo.
