Year-Round Hiring to Be More Common in Japan: Govt Paper
Tokyo, July 23 (Jiji Press)--A white paper released Tuesday by the Cabinet Office projects that year-round hiring of new graduates will become more common in Japan.
The government agency presented the analysis in its Annual Report on the Japanese Economy and Public Finance for fiscal 2019, based on a survey that found 33.3 pct of responding companies had introduced such a hiring system.
Combined with the share of companies considering introducing year-round hiring, the proportion reached 55.7 pct, the white paper also said.
Many companies in Japan hire new graduates en masse in spring, when the school year ends.
But the situation is changing as companies are increasingly diversifying personnel in hopes of developing groundbreaking products and services.
