Tokyo Paralympics Ticket Lottery Applications to Start Aug. 22
Tokyo, Aug. 13 (Jiji Press)--The application period for the first round of lottery for 2020 Tokyo Paralympics tickets for residents in Japan will start in the early hours of Aug. 22, the organizing committee of the games said Tuesday.
Applications will be received until 11:59 a.m. on Sep. 9 (2:59 a.m. GMT). The results will be announced on Oct. 2.
The prices of general tickets for competitions range from 900 yen to 7,000 yen. Prices were set at the lowest level for canoe, goalball, rowing, taekwondo and wheelchair fencing, while the highest price is set for the best-ranked seats for the finals of swimming events and the final and third-place matches for wheelchair basketball.
Ticket prices for the opening ceremony on Aug. 25, 2020, range from 8,000 yen to 150,000 yen. Prices were set at 8,000-90,000 yen for the closing ceremony on Sept. 6 that year.
Individuals can apply for two tickets for each of the opening and closing ceremonies, four for each of medal matches and six for each of preliminaries and other matches. Each person can apply for up to 60 tickets in total, with first and second choices combined, and can win up to 30 tickets.
