Hanoi, Aug. 14 (Jiji Press)--The central Japan prefecture of Nagano and Vietnam's Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding on enhancing cooperation to develop human resources in the nursing care and tourism sectors.

The signing took place when Nagano Governor Shuichi Abe visited the ministry in Hanoi, the capital of the Southeast Asian nation.

At a meeting with officials of the ministry, Abe stressed the importance of fostering nursing care workers in Vietnam, noting that the latest agreement will produce effects.

The governor also showed expectations that Vietnamese will play an active role in treating visitors to Japan as part of efforts to improve the environment for accepting more foreigners to the country.

After paying a courtesy call on Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday evening, Abe will visit Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday to promote goods produced in his prefecture.
