Recruit Career Itself, Parent Used Job Offer Refusal Prediction Data


Tokyo, Aug. 19 (Jiji Press)--Recruit Career Co.'s data on the probability of job-hunting students declining informal job offers were used by the Japanese job information provider itself as well as its parent, Recruit Holdings Co. <6098>, Recruit Career officials said Monday.

Recruit Career did not use the data for deciding whether to offer jobs to applicants and already discarded the data, the officials said.

The company utilized artificial intelligence to calculate job offer refusal probabilities, selling the data to 38 companies on condition that they are not used for determining successful applicants.

Mitsubishi Electric Corp. <6503> said Monday that it purchased the data in question in order to compare the prediction data with the actual number of applicants who declined job offers.

Mitsubishi Electric planned to use the data to learn a trend in job offer refusal rates and utilize them for its future recruitment activities, a company official said.
