Kumamoto, Aug. 23 (Jiji Press)--The labor union of the Japan Post group Thursday adopted a resolution urging management to improve governance, after a scandal over inappropriate insurance sales came to light.
The group's management has heavy responsibility in the scandal, the resolution of the Japan Postal Group Union said, criticizing what the union sees as its belittling attitude toward governance.
The management should focus more on workers, the resolution said. The scandal includes having clients pay premiums for both old and new insurance policies whey they switched.
The resolution was adopted at an annual convention held in the southwestern city of Kumamoto. "The management team should be replaced," a post office worker said after attending the meeting.
The labor union also urged the management to make up for the loss of income among sales staff as the group's insurance sales have been suspended due to the scandal.
