Tokyo, Sept. 3 (Jiji Press)--A then senior official of Japan's Cabinet Legislation Bureau in 2016 leaked to a pharmaceutical company executive a text of a clinical research bill before its disclosure, government sources said Tuesday.
In December 2016, the health ministry admonished the official it dispatched to the bureau, the ministry sources said.
The ministry did not disclose the problem or the punishment, judging that the case did not meet its disclosure standards, according to the sources.
The official, originally hired by a predecessor body of the ministry, now works for a ministry research institution.
In January 2016, the official sent a text of the bill to the company executive, the sources said.
