Tokyo, Sept. 9 (Jiji Press)--Hiroaki Nakanishi, chairman of the Japan Business Federation, or Keidanren, resumed his duties on Monday, after being absent for three and a half months to undergo treatment for lymphoma.

Speaking at a press conference in Tokyo, Nakanishi, who was hospitalized on May 21, said his group will work together with the government to address global uncertainties such as U.S.-China trade tensions.

He said relations between Japan and South Korea have been in a difficult situation over the past few months.

There are actual business activities between Japan and South Korea, he said. "I hope to put that to good use to take bilateral relations to a better condition," he said.

Nakanishi said the Japanese business circle was dissatisfied with the progress of fiscal and social security system reform in the country. "It is important to do what needs to be done steadily," he said.
