Fujitsu to Invest 500 B. Yen in Digital Transformation Biz


Tokyo, Sept. 26 (Jiji Press)--Japanese electronics giant Fujitsu Ltd. <6702> said Thursday it plans to invest 500 billion yen to expand its "digital transformation" business over five years from fiscal 2020, which starts next April.

In the sector, Fujitsu helps client companies innovate their businesses utilizing digital technologies.

The company will launch in January 2020 a subsidiary for designing, planning, establishing and managing digital transformation-related services.

Fujitsu aims to transform itself from a conventional information technology company into a digital transformation service provider.

From the beginning of October, Fujitsu President Takahito Tokita will double as chief digital transformation officer, a post to be newly created.
