Typhoon Hagibis Lands in Central Japan's Izu Peninsula

Tokyo, Oct. 12 (Jiji Press)--Very big and powerful Typhoon Hagibis made landfall in the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan, shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday (10 a.m. GMT), the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The 19th typhoon of this year has brought heavy rains and strong winds in many areas, such as the Tokai central region including Shizuoka and the Kanto eastern region.
