Tokyo, Oct. 24 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo's busy Shibuya district will see its tallest mixed-use skyscraper open on Nov. 1.
The new eastern building of Shibuya Scramble Square, shown to media members Thursday, will be a new landmark in the district, popular among young people. From the rooftop observation deck 230 meters above the ground, visitors can see Mount Fuji far away.
Standing right on top of Shibuya Station, the building has 47 floors aboveground and seven underground. It was developed by railroad and real estate group Tokyu Corp. <9005> and others.
On the second basement to the 14th floor are shopping areas with restaurants and apparel and cosmetic stores. Higher floors are for office use.
The entrance fee costs 2,000 yen for the observation area from the 45th floor to the roofless top floor.
